Romans 5:20 (NIV) - "The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more."
Upon salvation, you leave the realm of the law (that depended on your strength) and enter into the realm of grace, which depends on God’s strength. It is not about what you can do – it’s about what’s already been done for you! Believe and receive! Romans 6:15 says, “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!”
Many Christians have developed a philosophy that forgiveness is easier than resistance. Continued sins become habitual, then we wait for grace. In the meantime, we live under condemnation… with a broken heart… doubting God’s love and ability to forgive. We submit to sin and end up fleeing from God. James 4:7-8 says, “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.”
Submit to God and get free from sin! Grace is the only way to win against sin! No matter how strong the pull of sin is, when you submit to God, the power of grace is greater!
