Acts chapter 2 describes the early church and how they amazingly and miraculously came together as a close family of believers in the presence of God.
Acts 2:42, 46-47 – 42They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer… 46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together… 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
These were new people in a new place and they devoted themselves to a single minded pursuit. They shared all of their social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even personal blogs! Actually, it was better than that – they actually spent their time together in each other’s homes, they prayed together, they knew each other’s families. The best part is that God showed up in the midst of them and added to their number daily. It is amazing what we can accomplish in the presence of God and in unity of purpose.
