The entire Bible is filled with scripture and tone, which tells us to not test God. Yet, there is one place that God specifically tells us to test Him. God tells us in Malachi to test Him through tithing.
Malachi 3:10 - "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."
Deuteronomy 6 is a foundational chapter, containing the Law of Moses and the creedal statement: “Do not put the Lord your God to a test.” In fact, the tenor from Genesis to Revelation reveals that testing God shows a lack of faith and is a bad idea. Although in Malachi, the Lord gives us a different charge: “I know it’s going to sound crazy and it’s going to be hard to believe me. I know it’s going to challenge your faith. I know you might be weak and wavering – but I will give you sign from heaven! I will send a dramatic physical financial intervention for you... but you must trust me. It’s a Spiritual Test with Physical Promise-Beneficiary of the blessing!”
