Holy means set apart, pure and not polluted. We are called to be Pure and not Polluted.
Polluted means contaminated with harmful or poisonous substances and indicates that there is an outside source that has infiltrated. In 2 Corinthians 6 Paul speaks about ministry and service – verse 6 says, “…in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love.” Biblical purity is associated with understanding, patience and kindness. In I Timothy 4:12, purity is listed with “speech, life, love, and faith” and I Peter 3:2 we find purity with reverence.
You are meant to be set apart from the things of this world and that includes all aspects of life. The enemy of our soul will use the world to pollute each one of us and infiltrate us in any way that he/it can. Yield each area of your life today to the power of the Holy Spirit and choose to be pure and holy – not because you are required to be holy to come before God, but because He has already called you “a Holy Nation” and set you apart. Receive what God has already called you and walk in what Jesus has already done. You are a Holy Nation.
