Reason to Laugh and Cry

Don’t cry about what God doesn’t cry about– If the Spirit isn’t crying, you shouldn’t be crying.  If the Spirit is crying, you should be crying.  Laugh with Him, cry with Him and dance with Him.

Ephesians 4:30 says, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”  Unbelief, doubt, worry, grief, sorrow, fear, self-preservation and loss are just a few of the things, which might lead a person to cry.  One thing that grieves God the most is not believing how deeply He loves and cares for you.  You are safe with Him!  Match your emotions to His emotions- cry in your repentance, cry for lost people, don’t cry about your pain.  The person of the Holy Spirit is with you.  Galatians 5:22-23 describes the fruit of The Spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”  When you relate to the Holy Spirit as a person, your soul will begin to look like His – which looks like the Sons and Fathers.  It’s your soul that keeps you from living the abundant life, that God promised you.  There are reasons to cry, sing, dance, laugh, etc.  As you draw closer to the Lord, you will find that you will know Him better and know when to cry, laugh, dance, shout, sing…
