Matthew 22:36-40 "'Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?' Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'”
Everyone receives a legacy and everyone leaves a legacy! The question is: What KIND of legacy will you leave for those who follow you? What will the sum of your life mean to those who come after you? Webster’s Dictionary talks about property or money that is passed down from one generation to the next. It doesn’t really talk about character, values, memories, people, or love which is of highest human values. J.R. Tolkien (The author of the Lord of the Rings) said, “The essential task of living is to put our loves in order.” I really like that. We need to be reminded of what love is again! Then we need to prioritize, order, and understand our loves. If you don’t shoot at something... you are sure to hit nothing. Jesus tells us that the greatest love is to love God and then love people. When we love, then we leave a great legacy! Let us each leave a legacy of love.
