Healthy Fear

There is a difference between healthy fear and false fear.  Fear is a natural reaction, but it can be misguided by false evidence.

Hebrews 12:28-29 tells us, “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ’God is a consuming fire.’” This reverence and awe is exactly what the fear of God means for Christians. This is the motivating factor for us to surrender to the Creator of the Universe.  The enemy of our souls (the devil) uses unhealthy fear as a motivator.  You may have heard the definition of unhealthy fear as: False Evidence Appearing Real.  Notice that the difference is False Evidence.  Contrast the enemy tactic with healthy fear… the difference is truth.  There is only one true God and one worthy of our ultimate respect or healthy fear.
