Above All Love | First Wednesday May 2023
God has called us to do greater things.
Build a church that worship in spirit and truth.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” – John 14:12 NKJV
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” – John 4:23-24 NKJV
Mary Martha Principle-
“Now as they went on their way, Jesus[a] entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary.[b] Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” – Luke 10:38-42 ESV
Bringing together of two worlds-

2. The caring for people world (hosting people well)

And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God..” – 1 Peter 4:7-10 NKJV
Church service in the New Testament.
“What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up” – 1 Corinthians 14:26 ESV
“But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God. 29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.” – 1 Corinthians 14:28-29 ESV
“But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God. Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.” – 1 Corinthians 14:32-33 ESV
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” – Acts 2:42 ESV
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” – Isaiah 57:14 HCSB
Bringing together of two worlds-
1. The spirit filled world (Heaven focused)
2. The truth world (People focused)
How do we move forward into the great outpouring that God is doing?
- Love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul and strength.
- Love our neighbor as ourselves.
“If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body in order to boast[a]
but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind.
Love does not envy,
is not boastful, is not conceited,
5 does not act improperly,
is not selfish, is not provoked,
and does not keep a record of wrongs.
6 Love finds no joy in unrighteousness
but rejoices in the truth.
7 It bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends.
But as for prophecies,
they will come to an end;
as for languages, they will cease;
as for knowledge, it will come to an end.
9 For we know in part,
and we prophesy in part.
10 But when the perfect comes,
the partial will come to an end.
11 When I was a child,
I spoke like a child,
I thought like a child,
I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man,
I put aside childish things.
” – 1 Corinthians 13:2-11 NKJV
