Steward – one who manages the household concerns, domestic concerns and financial concerns of another

Lord – Empowered, having the power, denotes the power to control

⁹ that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; ~ Romans 10:9 NASB1995

⁹ “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home. ¹⁰ He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. ¹¹ Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? ¹² And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own? ¹³ “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. True Riches: Being Sons and Daughters of God

¹⁶ And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” ¹⁷ Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” ¹⁸ “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” ~ 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 NKJV

True Riches: Lead by the Spirit of God

¹³ For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. ¹⁴ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. ~ Romans 8:13-14 NKJV

True Riches: Freedom from torment

²² And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” ²³ But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” ²⁴ But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” ²⁵ Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” ²⁶ But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” ~ Matthew 15:22-26 NJKV

True Riches: God’s peace guarding your heart and mind

⁶ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; ⁷ and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

True Riches: Wealth sustained by God

Daily Provision – ³¹ “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ ³² For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. ³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. ³⁴ Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. ~ Matthew 6:31-34 NKJV 

Inheritance – ²⁹ So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, ³⁰ who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.  ~ Mark 10:29-30 NKJV

True Riches: Household Salvation

³¹ So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” ~ Acts 16:31 NKJV

True Riches: Mysteries of Heaven

¹⁰ And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” ¹¹ He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. ~ Matthew 13:10-11 NKJV

Faithfulness with unrighteous mammon: Tithe is holy to the Lord

³⁰ And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord. ³¹ If a man wants at all to redeem any of his tithes, he shall add one-fifth to it. ³² And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the Lord. ~ Leviticus 27:30-32 NKJV

Jesus did not do away with the law:  ¹⁷ “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. ¹⁸ For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.  ~ Matthew 5:17-18 NKJV

Faithfulness with unrighteous mammon: Give to those in need

¹⁷ But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? ~ 1 John 3:17 NKJV

Faithfulness with unrighteous mammon: Provide for your family

⁸ But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. ~ 1 Timothy 5:8 NKJV

Faithfulness with unrighteous mammon: Give to orphans and widows

²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. ~ James 1:27 NKJV

Faithfulness with unrighteous mammon: Avoid debt

6 My son, if you become surety for your friend, If you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger, ² You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth. ³ So do this, my son, and deliver yourself; For you have come into the hand of your friend: Go and humble yourself; Plead with your friend. ⁴ Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids. ⁵ Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, And like a bird from the hand of the fowler. ~ Proverbs 6:1-5 NKJV

Faithfulness with unrighteous mammon: Be generous

²⁵ The generous man will be prosperous, And he who waters will himself be watered. ~ Proverbs 11:25 NASB1995

¹⁰ Now the One who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness. ¹¹ You will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us. ~ 2 Corinthians 9:10-11 HCSB

Faithfulness with unrighteous mammon: Don’t trust money

²⁸ He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like the green leaf. ~ Proverbs 11:28 NASB1995
