Mountain of Religion
2-12-25
According to Merriam-Webster, religion is “the service and worship of God, or the supernatural.” The four largest religious groups currently are: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.
We have the numbers in this area of influence; however, we haven’t displaced the influence of idolatry, the religious spirit, nor the spirit of human reason YET.
The religious spirit, idolatry, and human reasoning sit on this mountain and are assigned to steal worship designated for God. These spirits hate the power, the Truth, the presence, and the passion of God that Holy Spirit brings to earth. Without Holy Spirit our religion is dead. Holy Spirit is specifically for us in our time. The Father sent Jesus, who, on the cross, paid the price for the redemption of man and all of creation. Jesus told His disciples that in addition to the work of redemption on the cross, His purpose was to send the Holy Spirit to help them. (The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution, by Johnny Enlow)
True worshippers have been given authority to displace every enemy from the top of this mountain, “so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations” (Isaiah 61:11)
We pray that His Kingdom comes to the mountain of religion as it is in heaven.
1st Prayer Point: Unity
We rejoice in the Lord for all the work He is doing in the Tampa Bay region with pastors and churches. The uniting of churches is happening! Let’s continue to pray for unity within our church, the churches in this region, and those all around the world.
Hebrews 10:23-25 (HCSB) Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, 25 not staying away from our meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Philippians 2:1-4 (HCSB) If then there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by thinking the same way, having the same love, sharing the same feelings, focusing on one goal. 3 Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than
yourselves. 4 Everyone should look out not [only] for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
John 17: 21-23 (HCSB) May they all be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You. May they also be one in Us, so the world may believe You sent Me. 22 I have given them the glory You have given Me. May they be one as We are one. 23 I am in them and You are in Me. May they be made completely one, so the world may know You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me.
2 Corinthians 13:11 (HCSB) Finally, brothers, rejoice. Be restored, be encouraged, be of the same mind, be at peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Ephesians 4: 2-3 (HCSB) with all humility and gentleness, with patience, accepting one another in love, 3 diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit with the peace that binds [us].
Colossians 3: 13-14 (HCSB) accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so also you must [forgive]. 14 Above all, [put on] love-the perfect bond of unity.
2nd Prayer Point: Worship
Idolatry: the worship of a physical object as a god; immoderate attachment or devotion to something. As Tim Keller states in his book “Counterfeit Gods”, an idol is “anything more important to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God, and anything that you seek to give you what only God can give.”
1 Corinthians 10: 13-14 (HCSB) No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape, so that you are able to bear it. 14 Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.
Colossians 3: 2-5 (HCSB) Set your minds on what is above, not on what is on the earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with the Messiah in God. 4 When the Messiah, who is your life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. 5 Therefore, put to death whatever in you is worldly: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.
2 Samuel 6: 21-22 (HCSB) David replied to Michal, “I was dancing before the Lord who chose me over your father and his whole family to appoint me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel. I will celebrate before the Lord, 22 and I will humble myself even more and humiliate myself.
John 4:23-24 (HCSB) But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
Colossians 3: 14-17 (HCSB) Above all, [put on] love-the perfect bond of unity. 15 And let the peace of the Messiah, to which you were also called in one body, control your hearts. Be thankful. 16 Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
3rd Prayer Point: Pray for Israel
Prayer for Israel must become a top priority in order to take back complete influence of this spere in our culture.
Psalms 122: 6-9 (HCSB) Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure.7 May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.”8 For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.”9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity.
Psalms 121 I raise my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber. 4 Indeed, the Protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep. 5 The Lord protects you; the Lord is a shelter right by your side. 6 The sun will not strike you by day, or the moon by night. 7 The Lord will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life. 8 The Lord will protect your coming and going both now and forever.
4th Prayer Point: New Wine Skins (We must die to ourselves more and live in Christ, our new Spirit, more.)
Luke 6: 36-39 (HCSB) He also told them a parable: “No one tears a patch from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. Otherwise, not only will he tear the new, but also the piece from the new garment will not match the old. 37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins, it will spill, and the skins will be ruined. 38 But new wine should be put into fresh wineskins. 39 And no one, after drinking old wine, wants new, because he says, ‘The old is better.’ “
Romans 12: 1-2 (HCSB) Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Ephesians 5: 16-21 (HCSB) making the most of the time, because the days are evil. 17 So don’t be foolish but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 And don’t get drunk with wine, which [leads to] reckless actions, but be filled with the Spirit: 19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music to the Lord in your heart, 20 giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.
