Fish Gate

This gate represents the call on our lives as Christians to share the Gospel with others. We are ambassadors for Christ to the world. This gate during Nehemiah’s time was used by fishermen to bring their catch into the city to be sold. The Fish Gate reminds us that we are to get involved in evangelism because we have been called to be “fishers of men”.

Matthew 4:18-20 (HCSB)

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.

  • Lord, we are thankful for salvation. Thank you for investing your one and only Son, so we could be saved.
  • Thank you, Lord, for empowering us with the grace to invest in others, by sharing the Gospel.
  • Thank you for protecting us as we go out to share your love and kindness with those who don’t know you, yet.
  • Thank you, Lord, for giving us the courage and an unquenchable desire to share the Gospel.
  • Thank you for equipping us to win souls for your Kingdom.
  • Thank you for a harvest of souls, and for a great revival in the Tampa Bay area.

Matthew 5:14-16 (HCSB)

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 9:37-38 (HCSB)

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

  • Pray that The Crossing Church family would have the boldness and courage to step out and share the truth of the Gospel.
  • We command the spirit of fear to leave our lives.
  • We command every power of darkness plotting evil against us as we move through our community sharing the love of Christ to be bound.
  • We command every prince of the air regulating the affairs over the Tampa Bay region to stop your operations to be cast down now, in Jesus’ name.
  • Pray that we will transform this region for Christ.

John 4:39- (HCSB)

39 Now many Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of what the woman said when she testified, “He told me everything I ever did.” 40 Therefore, when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed there two days. 41 Many more believed because of what He said. 42 And they told the woman, “We no longer believe because of what you said, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this really is the Savior of the world.”

  • Pray that we would be baptized in the Holy Spirit and operate in the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12: 8-11).
  • Pray that we would receive words of wisdom, knowledge, and encouragement as we share the Gospel in this region. We believe that just like the word of knowledge Jesus gave the Samaritan woman ended up transforming that region, when we share what Holy Spirit is saying to us, the Tampa Bay region will also be transformed.
  • Pray that we would be like the Samaritan woman who went back to her community and invested in the people thereby inviting them to meet Jesus.

Romans 10:1 (Msg)

Believe me, friends, all I want for Israel is what’s best for Israel: salvation, nothing less. I want it with all my heart and pray to God for it all the time.

  • We pray for salvation to come to the people of Israel:
  • For Israel to turn to the Lord so the veil may be taken away (2 Corinthians 3:11-16), and for their spiritual blindness to be removed.
  • Pray based on the Lord’s promise that all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; for this My covenant with them, when I take away their sins” (Romans 11:25-27).
  • Proclaim also God’s promise that “He will cleanse them and give them a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36).
