Are we living in a false identity? | Week 1 | Soul Care

Soul Care in the Race of Life. Because In the Christian journey, the health of our soul can be the difference between a deep and satisfying intimacy with God that can help us grow through those “20 mile marks” of life….or a restless and frustrating tendency to want to give up when those tough moments come.

You see there are 20 mile mark moments in our Christian walk when we will want to give up but we have to remember our training or we will succumb to our surroundings and our current circumstances.

Are we living in a false identity?

²³ But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. ²⁴ Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. ²⁵ But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. ~ Galatians 3:23-27 NKJV

Q: What are you wearing? / What are we wearing?

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. ~ Galatians 3:28-29 NKJV

Now that we are clothed in Christ and Jesus is our identity then there’s nothing outside of HIM that we should identify with.

The enemy is fighting to keep us bound, and he doesn’t even care about what you identify with as long as you never realize who you really are… a child of God.

4 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, ² but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. ³ Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. ⁴ But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, ⁵ to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. ~ Galatians 4:1-5 NKJV

⁶ And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” ⁷ Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. ⁸ But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods. ⁹ But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? ~ Galatians 4:6-9 NKJV
