Set Apart, Not Set Aside
Understanding Our Calling
Chosen by God
– God has chosen you have been picked you are valuable to God.
• Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you
out of darkness into His marvelous light;
• We are not random beings in a vast universe. God specifically chose us to be His own. This
calling is a divine privilege that comes with a purpose.
Set Apart, Not Set Aside
• Scripture: Jeremiah 1:5 – “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were
born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
HOW MANY OF YOU GUYS HAVE A DREAM (YOU WHAT DO YOU WANNA BE)
• Being set apart means that God has a special plan for each of us. We are not cast aside but
intentionally chosen for His work. He sees potential in us that we might not see in
ourselves.
GOD DOES NOT FORGET ABOUT THE DREAMS HE GIVES YOU.
Embrace Our Identity
• Scripture: Ephesians 1:4 – “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy
and blameless in his sight. In love.”
• Embracing the identity God has given us means living in a way that reflects His love and
holiness. It’s about walking confidently in the truth that we belong to the Lord
Set Apart for Relationship
God Desires Intimacy with Us
Prayer time/ Bible Time
• Scripture: John 15:15 – “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what
his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have
made known to you.”
• God desires a deep, intimate relationship with us. He doesn’t see us as mere followers but as
friends, sharing His heart and plans with us.
Set Apart, Not Set Aside
• Scripture: John 17:16-17 – “They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by
the truth; your word is truth.”
• God has set us apart for Himself. This separation from the world isn’t about isolation, but about
sanctification—being made holy through His truth. He has a unique place for us in His heart and
His kingdom.
Pursuing God Wholeheartedly
• Scripture: Psalm 42:1 – “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my
God.”
•Our relationship with God should be one of longing and desire, much like the psalmist’s
yearning for God. This passionate pursuit transforms our lives and draws us closer to Him.
Transforming Our Lives
Shedding Old Habits
• Scripture: Ephesians 4:22-24 – “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put
off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude
of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and
holiness.”
• Transformation begins with letting go of old, sinful habits. This process is not easy, but it’s
necessary for spiritual growth and renewal.
Adopting Godly Habits
• Scripture: Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his
good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Like last year invade/ You were on Fire for God then what happened?
Raise your hand is your ready for a fresh start?
• As we discard our old ways, we must adopt new, godly habits that align with God’s will. This
involves a daily commitment to live according to His word and guidance.
Coming with an Open Heart
• Scripture: Ezekiel 36:26 – “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove
from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

allowing Him to work within us, replacing our stubbornness with a spirit that is receptive to His
love and direction. In all of this morning session please hear me out when I say this..
