Wednesday Night Prayer January 24, 2024

Mountain of Religion

The religious spirit, idolatry, and human reasoning sit on this mountain and are assigned to steal worship designated for God. These spirits hate the power, the Truth, the presence, and the passion of God that Holy Spirit brings to earth. Without Holy Spirit our religion is dead. Holy Spirit is specifically for us in our time. The Father sent Jesus, who, on the cross, paid the price for the redemption of man and all of creation. Jesus told His disciples that in addition to the work of redemption on the cross, His purpose was to send the Holy Spirit to help them. (The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution, by Johnny Enlow)

Prayer for unity among believers and for Jerusalem must also become a top priority to take back complete influence on the mountain of religion.

Declaration for The Crossing Church:

As we, The Crossing Church, run down the road God has called us to take, we will do it with humility and discipline – not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring ourselves out for each other in acts of love. We are alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences. As a church, we were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so we will stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. Everything we are, think, and do is permeated with Oneness. That doesn’t mean we should all look, speak, and act the same. Out of the generosity of Christ, each of us is given our own gift. We are all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love. We walk in unity in our homes and within the ministry at The Crossing.(Adapted from Ephesians 4:1-16 MSG)

1st Prayer Point: True Worshipers (We must repent of all forms of idolatry.)

John 4:23 (HCSB) But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him.

  • We repent Lord of all forms of idolatry, of anything that has gotten our eyes and focus off you God. Deuteronomy 29:18 (HCSB) Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.
  • Forgive us Lord if we have ever offered performance-based worship to you. Create in us a pure heart for you and renew a right spirit within us.  We repent of any human reasoning that keeps us from worshipping you in spirit and in truth. Isaiah 29:13 (HCSB) The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught. Help us Lord not to bow down to human reasoning, we want to worship you in spirit and in truth.
  • We repent for coming in agreement with a religious spirit that tries to keep us from ministering outside of how Holy Spirit is guiding and directing. Help us to be Spirit-led in all that we do. We are asking for the Spirit of truth and revelation to come and fill our hearts.
  • Pray that human reasoning which creates a type of Christianity that is a form of godliness but denies its power will be displaced in our church and the entire Body of Christ.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (HCSB) But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power.

  • Pray that we will not be image driven and steeped in pride.

2nd Prayer Point: New Wine Skins (We must die to ourselves more and live in Christ, our new Spirit, more.)

Luke 6: 36-39 (HCSB) He also told them a parable: “No one tears a patch from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. Otherwise, not only will he tear the new, but also the piece from the new garment will not match the old. 37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins, it will spill, and the skins will be ruined. 38 But new wine should be put into fresh wineskins. 39 And no one, after drinking old wine, wants new, because he says, ‘The old is better.’ ”

  • We celebrate all the Lord has done at The Crossing and we say, “We want more of you Lord!” Pray that our hearts will not be stuck in old wine skins or locked in traditions but that we will be open to whatever Holy Spirit wants to do as we continue advancing for Him.
  • Pray that Holy Spirit will move in us and all believers in this region like never before, causing the mountain of religion to shake and its dark forces to be displaced. Ephesians 5: 16-21 (HCSB) making the most of the time, because the days are evil. 17 So don’t be foolish but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 And don’t get drunk with wine, which [leads to] reckless actions, but be filled with the Spirit: 19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music to the Lord in your heart, 20 giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.
  • Pray that we will be a church body that cares more about what Holy Spirit wants us to do than what man wants.

3rd Prayer Point: Unity

We rejoice in the Lord for all the work He is doing in the Tampa Bay region with pastors and churches. The uniting of churches is happening! Let’s continue to pray for unity in our church, the churches in this region, and those all around the world.

Hebrews 10:23-25 (HCSB) Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, 25 not staying away from our meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

  • Pray for a spirit of unity to continue here at The Crossing and with the churches in this region.
  • Pray that churches will band together as a unified army, so as to effectively win the lost in this region together and to bring influence in every area of our culture.
  • We declare that we are a church family that is not easily offended and walking in forgiveness is easy for us. Ephesians 4: 1-6 (HCSB) I, therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, accepting one another in love, 3 diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit with the peace that binds [us]. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope at your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
  • Command all division and dissension to be exposed, corrected, and removed from The Crossing. Romans 16: 17-18 (HCSB) Now I implore you, brothers, watch out for those who cause dissensions and pitfalls contrary to the doctrine you have learned. Avoid them; 18 for such people do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattering words they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.

4th Prayer Point: Prayer for Jerusalem must become a top priority to take back the complete influence of this sphere in our culture. Pray for peace to come to Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6 (HCSB) 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you prosper;

Isaiah 62:6-7 (HCSB) 6 Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen on your walls; they will never be silent, day or night. You, who remind the Lord, no rest for you! 7 Do not give Him rest until He establishes and makes her Jerusalem the praise of the earth.

  • Pray that as a church we will commit to fervently pray for Israel.
  • Pray that we will be the watchmen on the walls who refuse to be silent in our prayers for Israel.

Romans 10:1 (Msg) 1 Believe me, friends, all I want for Israel is what’s best for Israel: salvation, nothing less. I want it with all my heart and pray to God for it all the time.

We pray for salvation to come to the people of Israel:

  • For Israel to turn to the Lord so the veil may be taken away (2 Corinthians 3:11-16), and for their spiritual blindness to be removed.
  • Pray based on the Lord’s promise that all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; for this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins” (Romans 11:25-27).
  • Proclaim also God’s promise that “He will cleanse them and give them a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36).
  • Pray for all false religions to be dismantled and eradicated from Israel.

Psalm 121: 4-5 (HCSB) 4 Indeed, the Protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep. 5 The Lord protects you; the Lord is a shelter right by your side.

Deuteronomy 33:29 (HCSB) How happy you are, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is the shield that protects you, the sword you boast in. Your enemies will cringe before you, and you will tread on their backs.

  • Pray for protection in the ongoing war from Her enemies.
  • Pray for God to deal swiftly and justly with those who hate Israel and the Jewish People, and who seek to destroy them.
  • Lord, bring Hamas and Hezbollah, the enemies of Israel, to an end. We ask that all their plans and strategies will unfold and be ineffective.
  • We come against the spirit of hate and murder that has revolted against Israel and command it to be dismantled, in Jesus’ name.
  • Pray for God’s solutions and provision for border disputes, housing and water shortages, incoming refugees, and other troubling internal issues.
  • Pray for protection over Her resources.

James 1:5 (HCSB) Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him.

  • Pray that every person in leadership will seek you Lord for wisdom in leading Israel.
  • Pray for prosperity and protection over her government leaders, spiritual leaders, heads of families, and all who are in authority.
  • Pray for those who protect her, and her allies, and may the United States always be one!
