Wednesday Night Prayer April 24, 2024

Sheep Gate

This gate represents salvation through Jesus’ death on the cross. 

John 10:7-9 (NIV)

7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture.

The Sheep Gate reminds us of His sacrifice. Jesus, the Lamb of God, the ultimate sacrifice, who takes away the sins of the world. “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

In many ways, the Sheep Gate represents our salvation. Salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. 

1^st Prayer Point: Pray for our lost family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors: 

1Timothy 2:1-4 (HCSB) First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, 2 for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

• Pray for the people whose names have been placed in our Salvation Boxes at every campus.
• Pray for the redemption of our unsaved loved ones.  Lord, bring them closer to you. Let them know of your love and your mercies. Holy Spirit, we ask that you convict them so that they may repent and follow your ways.
• Pray that their spiritual eyes and ears will open to see and hear what the Lord is doing and saying. 
• Pray that the Lord will draw them to Himself.         

John 6:44 (MSG) 44 You’re not in charge here. The Father who sent me is in charge. He draws people to me – that’s the only way you’ll ever come. Only then do I do my work, putting people together, setting them on their feet, ready for the End.

• Pray for Holy Spirit to reveal to us how to minister to those we know and love, who are lost. Help us Lord to be kind and compassionate, for it is Your kindness that draws people to repentance.

2^nd Prayer Point: Pray for Revival to come to Tampa Bay

• Pray that this community will see the goodness of God and that the lost will be drawn to Him more than ever before. Pray for opportunities to minister to the lost. Lord, help us to recognize these opportunities in our day-to-day lives. Matthew 5:16 (MSG) 16 Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand – shine! Keep an open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, our generous Father in heaven.
• Pray for us as a church body, that we will go out and share the Gospel in our communities. Lord, give us the boldness to share your love with everyone we meet. Matthew 28:19 (HCSB) Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
• Pray that there will be demonstrations of the Spirit and power everywhere we share the Gospel. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (HCSB) When I came to you, brothers, announcing the testimony of God to you, I did not come with brilliance of speech or wisdom. 2 For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 4 My speech and my proclamation were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and power, 5 so that your faith might not be based on men’s wisdom but on God’s power.
• We declare that you, Lord, are a wall of fire around Tampa Bay, and nothing and no one will stop what you are doing in us and our city!

3^rd Prayer Point: Pray for a great harvest of souls all around the world.

John 3:16-17 (HCSB) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

• We decree that we have entered a soul-winning season!
• We are asking that those who do not know you, will come to know you and receive you as their Savior. Holy Spirit don’t delay.  2 Peter 3:9 (HCSB) The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
• Pray specifically for those deceived in witchcraft and occultic worship. Pray for those in leadership roles to encounter Jesus and to surrender completely to Him.

4^th Prayer Point: Pray for a fresh urgency to intercede for the lost souls of this community and all around the world.

• Lord, we are asking for a heart of intercession for the lost. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (HCSB) Pray constantly. Romans 8:26-27 (HCSB) In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings. 27 And He who searches the hearts knows the Spirit’s mind-set, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
• Pray that we will not grow weary in praying for the lost. Lord, help us to be like the widow in Luke 18 who refused to give up asking. We need perseverance. Help us to not become distracted or offended.
• We pray with confidence, knowing that the Lord hears our prayers. Matthew 18:19-20 (HCSB) Again, I assure you: If two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there among them.”
