Wednesday Night Prayer – February 26th 2025

Refiner’s Gate (Dung Gate) 

The Refiner’s Gate or Dung Gate represents deliverance or elimination. It’s a picture of forgiving and letting go of. It’s an image of getting rid of things that are unhealthy in our lives. A place where we can allow Holy Spirit to purify our hearts. We are petitioning the Lord today for ourselves, the Tampa Bay region, the state of FL, and our nation to experience His refining fire. We believe by faith that we will turn away from evil and return to Him. We declare that we will once again be known as The Bay of the Holy Spirit. 

Malachi 3: 3 (HCSB) He will be like a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will present offerings to the Lord in righteousness. 

 

1st Prayer Point: It is the work of the Holy Spirit to convict us personally of sin. We are asking Holy Spirit to search our hearts and lead us into repentance. Lord, take us through your refining fire. 

John 16:8 (ASV) And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment and apply the cleansing work of God in us, Titus 3:5 (HCSB) He saved us- not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. 

  • Father, we ask you to search our hearts today and reveal to us any offensive way in us. We ask that you forgive us for anything that we have done or that we are now doing which is sinful. 

Proverbs 17: 3 (NKJV) The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, But the Lord tests the hearts. 

  • Lord, the scripture says in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Lord, we confess our sins before you, we pray that by your mercy you will forgive us in the name of Jesus. 
  • Pray that as we, who are called by His name, turn from our wicked ways and seek His face that we will see Him forgive our sins and heal our land. 

Isaiah 48:10 (HCSB) Look, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. 

  • Lord, many of us are in the furnace of suffering right now. We are crying out for your refining to come in the midst of these sufferings. We know that You are for us and not against us. Open our eyes to see your mighty hand in the midst of the trials. 

Isaiah 43:2 (HCSB) I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and [when you pass] through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire, and the flame will not burn you. 

  • Let Your refining fire build character and purity in us. 
  • Let Your refining fire build our faith even in the most difficult trials. 

1 Peter 1:6-7 (TPT) May the thought of this cause you to jump for joy, even though lately you’ve had to put up with the grief of many trials. 7 But these only reveal the sterling core of your faith, which is far more valuable than gold that perishes, for even gold is refined by fire. Your authentic faith will result in even more praise, glory, and honor when Jesus the Anointed One is revealed. 

2nd Prayer Point: We stand in the gap and repent for the Tampa Bay region and those who live here, just like Daniel did. We ask that you order your angels to come swiftly to minister on our behalf. (Daniel 9:20-23) 

  • Lord, we are repenting today on behalf of the entire Tampa Bay region. Forgive us Lord. We take the sins of this region to the refiner’s gate and ask that you purify us.  

Daniel 9: 4-5 (HCSB) I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed: Ah,      Lord-the great and awe-inspiring God who keeps His gracious covenant      with those who love Him and keep His commandments- 5 we have sinned, done wrong, acted wickedly, rebelled, and turned away from  Your commandments and ordinances. 

  • We specifically repent for the human trafficking that is taking place in our region. Lord, let every human trafficking ring and perpetrator be exposed and brought to justice.  
  • We ask that You forgive us of all other corruption that is taking place in the Tampa Bay region. 
  • Lord, forgive us, the Church, for allowing competition and division to come between us. Help us all to work together in unity to transform this region for Your glory. 
  • Pray that as we, who are called by His name, turn from our wicked ways and seek His face that we will see Him forgive our sins and heal our land.  

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their    wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 

3rd Prayer Point: We are joining the Church, the Ekklesia, in praying for our Nation. Lord, we need purification from You to come to America. We are asking for the Refiner’s fire to burn across our great nation.  

  • We bind up apathy, boredom, the spirit of slumber, and luke-warmness from the Church. Lord, wake us up and compel us to get active in our communities.                                   

1 Peter 4: 8-11 (HCSB) Above all, keep your love for one another at full strength, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another without complaining. 10 Based on the gift they have received, everyone should use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, [his speech should be] like the oracles of God; if anyone serves, [his service should be] from the strength God provides, so that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.  

  • Give us a spirit of knowledge and understanding of what is happening in our world and how to pray for our local, state, and federal governments. 
  • Ask the Spirit of God to help us speak the truth and how we can minister His love to others throughout our days. 
  • Pray against Spiritual wickedness that seeks to manipulate and control our nation (Ephesians 6:10-19). 
  • Through an executive order, President Trump established the White House Faith Office on February 7, 2025. The White House Faith Office, housed within the Domestic Policy Council, and led by a senior advisor, will empower faith-based entities, community organizations, and houses of worship to better serve families and communities. On the day preceding the signing, Attorney General Pam Bondi was tasked with leading a task force that would eliminate anti-Christian bias. The order for the White House Faith Office requires that every federal agency appoint a faith liaison within 90 days. We are praying that each agency will appoint Holy Spirit filled men and women as their Faith Liaison. Men and Women that will be led by You, Lord. Men and Women who will usher in Your refining fire within these agencies. 

These are the different agencies: Department of Agriculture, Department of Commerce, Department of Defense, Department of Education, Department of Energy, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of the Interior Department of Labor, Office of Management and Budget, Department of State,
Department of Transportation, Department of the Treasury, Department of Veterans Affairs 

4th Prayer Point: We are asking for a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit individually and for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in this region, this state and our nation. 

Matthew 3:11 (HCSB) “I baptize you with water for repentance, but the One who is coming after me is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to take off His sandals. He Himself will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 

  • We pray that as we metaphorically pass through the Refiner’s Gate, that we will experience a fresh filling of Holy Spirit.  
  • We pray for a fresh fire to begin to burn on the altars of our lives.  
  • We come against every form of lukewarmness in our spirit man. Pray for a baptism of His fire to burn off everything that would keep us from seeking more of Him. 
  • Pray for a double portion of His Spirit to be poured out on us and this entire region. Lord, let us speak your Word boldly. Shake our cities, Lord!(Acts 4:23-31) 
  • Pray for revival fire to fall in: our homes, our church, our neighborhoods, our schools and businesses, and the entire Tampa Bay region, Florida, and the USA.
